John Walsh was born and reared in Naas, County Kildare the headquarters of the racing and breeding industry in Ireland. Graduated from the Newmarket School of Stud Management having spent two years studying at Derisley Wood Stud, Meddler Stud and English National Stud.
After graduating from the Irish National Stud Management Course under the direction of Michael Osborne he travelled extensively to the breeding centres in USA, South America, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
John Walsh has over 30 years experience as a bloodstock agent dealing in all aspects of the industry and has represented clients such as Japan Racing Association, Hong Kong Jockey Club, Airlie Stud, Coolmore Stud, Shadai Farm, Lex Stud, Gainesway Farm, Oak Lodge Stud, Forenaughts Stud, Tara Stud, Rathbarry Stud; Widden Stud, Eliza Park Stud, Darley Stud Mgmt. in the acquisition of bloodstock.
John Walsh has also bred the Stakes winners Favourite Prince (Champion 3 year old colt in Germany), Mistrals Collette (2nd top rated 3 and 4 year old filly in Italy), Brown Ale (Champion at 2 and 3 in Norway), Down Raid (Champion at 2 in Norway), Cape Grace (Dahlia S), Billy Allen (Stakes Winner in USA, France, Italy, Germany, Sweden of 16 races, £232,000), General Cloney (Ulster Harp Derby), Baron De Feypo (Brown Lad Hurdle), Prince Of Tara (Troytown Chase), Tenero Giacomo (Stakes placed Winner of 21 races, £240,000).
